Babies, babies everywhere

Since I've been here I've met 2 newborns (they were born in January) and have been to a baby shower. My friend from Germany, Heather (Mic) live about 40 minutes from me so I was able to visit their little Summer Rae. That's her on the left.
I've been fortunate enough to make a new friend (thanks to my friend Cindy in Germany). Crystal. She also had a little girl in January, Megan. I don't have a picture of her yet.
Lastly, my friend Kim (whom I met in Germany) is now living in Virginia Beach and is due to have a boy in April. I was able to go down to VA Beach for her shower and help Irene out some. I'll have to post pictures later (as I took pictures for Irene, so don't have much on my camera).

Christmas with Friends!

Our good friends, Becky and Rich, invited Tim and I over for Christmas dinner. Becky out did herself, she made a wonderful soup, ham, potatos and salad. We topped the dinner off with a Rum cake. Everything was sooo delicious. Thank you guys for always being there for us!! We will miss you but hope to see you as often as possible.

Christmas Eve

Our friends Mike and Lisa hosted a nice Christmas Eve get together. It created a good opportunity for us to say farewell to some new and old friends here in Germany. When I said goodbye to their daughter, Layla, I told her to come visit me in the states. She told me that a lot of the houses look a like so that it would be a good idea to write my name on a piece of paper and put it somewhere on the front of my house so that she could find me ~ I told her that was a great idea (she is 5 years old ~ pretty clever young thing).

Ludwigsburg Pumpkin Festival

My friend Amanda, her son Ethan and myself went to the annual Ludwigsburg Pumpkin Festival in October. This year was a space theme. Pretty interesting ideas they came up with for the display. This was my first time to the festival as well as on the castle grounds. Ethan had a blast at the fairy tale gardens. One fairy tale I recognized was Little Red Riding Hood.

We sampled some pumpkin cuisine at the festival also. Pumpkin maultaschen, pumpkin soup, pumpkin wine and pumpkin cake. All of it was delectable!!

Just want to say thanks to Amanda and Ethan for going with me to the festival. I think we all had a lot of fun!
