Ludwigsburg Pumpkin Festival

My friend Amanda, her son Ethan and myself went to the annual Ludwigsburg Pumpkin Festival in October. This year was a space theme. Pretty interesting ideas they came up with for the display. This was my first time to the festival as well as on the castle grounds. Ethan had a blast at the fairy tale gardens. One fairy tale I recognized was Little Red Riding Hood.

We sampled some pumpkin cuisine at the festival also. Pumpkin maultaschen, pumpkin soup, pumpkin wine and pumpkin cake. All of it was delectable!!

Just want to say thanks to Amanda and Ethan for going with me to the festival. I think we all had a lot of fun!

Creative Memories

Well my friend Becky and I ventured out with our German friend Anke to a German Creative Memories crop. While there was some what of a language barrier we had fun and got some scrapping accomplished. Even learned a few new techniques. The host Isabel had lots of food and drinks for us. We all walked away with Creative Memories prizes! It doesn't get any better than that!

Unsere Freunde und Nachbarn

Tim and I are fortunate enough to live next door to Martin and Martina. They have taken us under their wing since we arrived in Gaertringen. Our German experience would not be complete without them. They have taken us on various adventures from bike rides to walks to local Christmas markets. Martina has shared her culinary expertise with us with meals such as linsen and spatzle, kase spatzle and sauerkraut lasagna. Every meal is a good meal at Martina's. Thanks for all the great memories thus far.

My newest prized possesion...

Tim and I bought this barrister bookshelf from the Ramstein Bazaar. I've wanted one of these for a few years now but have never made it early enough to purchase one (already gone by the time I get there). I'm quite pleased with it. It supposedly from the early 1920s.
